Grants
From time to time, the Trust is able to support individuals or groups involved in local initiatives to promote Christian communications.
The principal objects of the Beds & Herts Churches Media Trust are:
- To promote and advance the Christian religion, in particular to advance the education of the public through the broadcast, printed and communications media principally within the counties of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire
- To promote research into the effect and relationship of the Church and the media and to disseminate the result of such research
The Trustees will only support individuals or organisations that are undertaking projects aligned with these objects.
Conditions
Applicants should either reside in Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire, or habitually worship at a church in either of these two counties, or the project for which they are seeking a grant should benefit church(es) in either of these two counties.
In general, the Trustees will not provide grants for the total costs of a project. The way in which the remainder of the costs will be raised should be made clear in the application.
In general, the Trustees will not provide grants for ongoing, core activities. Retrospective funding, or funding for projects that have already started, will not usually be considered.
An individual or organisation may only apply for one grant per year.
Grants will usually be in the range of £50 - £250. In exceptional circumstances, grants over this amount will be considered from time to time.
The Trustees meet regularly during the year and applications will be considered at their next meeting.
Important!
When making an application, please read the guidelines very carefully and give as full a description of the proposal and background as possible.
All applicants should complete and return the application form together with supporting information. It is preferable for all applications to be sent electronically to the Honorary Secretary.
